Research
The group is centered on the research and development of electromagnetic structures and circuits. The resulting applications are within, above all, high-frequency, low-pressure plasma sources, resonators for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) systems, sensors of pulsed processes in electromagnetic fields, and other relevant areas.
R & D in Electromagnetic Structures and Circuits
Researching High-Frequency, Low-Pressure Plasma Sources and Resonators
In collaboration with industry-based partners, we are developing a source of plasma and ions that exploits cage resonator excitation to ensure a stable discharge even at very low pressures.
UHF Detection and Locating of Partial Discharges
We have produced a system to locate partial discharges in power transformers, with the discharge detection in the ultrashort wave band. The product is employed in the operational diagnostics of block transformers at the the South Moravian region’s Dukovany power plant.
Spectroscopy that Merges the Potentials of Nuclear Magnetic and Electron Paramagnetic Resonances
In this subdomain, we are developing a multi-nuclei NMR probe for an 11 T elementary field and electron paramagnetic resonance at 330 GHz.
