Propulsions that exploit air as the fuel (the ABEP concept) are widely considered the only option to ensure the continuous operation of satellites on the VLEO. A plasma source developed by SpaceLab EU utilizes an innovative plasma excitation method that combines ECR with high-frequency resonance to deliver superior engine efficiency even at extremely low pressures that represent the conditions on the VLEO. The project will demonstrate the effectivity and functionality of the technology in a vacuum, creating an integrated system ready to be tested with special equipment.

We propose to improve the current 500 MHz DNP-NMR system by building a new multi-nuclear probe. The current version performs non-optimally in NMR experiments and provides only a limited number of experiments, which might be extended by introducing a modular probe head into the design. For such task, simulations of radiofrequency, microwave and magnetic properties must be done, as well as a 3D model of the imrpoved probe, after which it can be manufactured and its proper function can be experimentally verified.

The project has been designed to develop a new type of plasma ion source operable with a wide range of gases, atomic and molecular, that features easy power scalability. The device will be employed as, for example, a source of ions in ion beam machining…

The project investigates a radio frequency plasma slit jet (PSJ) employing deceleration structures for plasma excitation at atmospheric pressure. This novel plasma excitation process will involve electromagnetic field examination via comparing relevant numerical models and experimental measurements. The effects to be investigated comprise charge ignition and propagation as related to changes in the electromagnetic field and the supply of chemical reactants in the form of aerosols or cryogenic liquids…

The aim of the project is to investigate, numerically and analytically characterize, experimentally verify, and understand the behavior and main limitations of new chipless information encoding principles that utilize wireless recognition capabilities in both linear and non-linear working modes, applying electrically small artificial (composite) structures, their arrays, and unique sensing.

The research team developed and verified a system for testing the operability of implantable medical devices in a radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic field. The system simulates the conditions in magnetic resonance (MR) tomographs having a basic field of 3T and is designed as a tunable cage resonator with dual channel excitation around 128 MHz. Futher features include a size that allows holding a human torso; a set of phantoms; and a setup of instruments to generate the testing power signals, control the exposure, and evaluate the field sensor signals. The actual development was performed within a broader research consortium of several European-based subjects and funded through the ENIAC JU program as well as by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. The resulting system was installed and operated in Germany, at the company MR:comp GmbH.
